Our Approach

We believe all New Yorkers deserve the chance to be economically independent.  We believe in the power of work.  And we believe that work is a critical path towards a brighter future.  To translate these beliefs into realities, Wildcat employs the following two-pronged approach:

• We invest tenaciously in the skills and experiences of New Yorkers facing the highest barriers to employment to take meaningful steps forward in their lives; and
• We pursue workforce development strategies flexibly to create the most work opportunities for our customers while supporting our local economy.

INVESTING IN OUR CUSTOMERS

The term Wildcat comes from the oil industry. Wildcatters go into fields that aren’t known to be productive, but by investing in them they are able to reach valuable resources that others have left behind.  We do the same thing at Wildcat.  Through intensive programs and ongoing support, our customers develop the skills and confidence to overcome seemingly insurmountable barriers.  We work hand in hand with our customers to tap into their full potential – and we don’t give up.

Wildcat is fluent in a wide range of best practices in recruiting, training and workforce development.  Rather than employing a one-size-fits-all approach, we pride ourselves on applying the right solution to the right situation.  So whether it’s specialized industry expertise, large-scale hiring or help with a new store opening, we can meet a wide range of business needs.  By fostering strong relationships with employers, we can also serve our customers even better.  The result is revitalized access to good, stable jobs and meaningful career ladders for our customers – in addition to more rewarding relationships with our communities.
